Awesome!
It has many elements: a great story, great characters, and great actors.
There is suspense, action, sex (a very little, but very memorable), all done in great locations.
The movie takes place in the southeastern United States, but I never did figure out when the movie was set. My best guess would be the late 1940s or the mid-1950s as Paul Newman's character is described at one point as a war hero (a war hero gone way downhill at the time of the story).
