Why did I not come across this movie earlier? Recommended to a friend but I somehow didn't watch it. One star is for all the movie, music, cinematography, dialogues, location, everything and all the actors but one, Avinash Tiwary, what a killer!!! He has all those 4 stars, the way his acting evolves with the character is just beyond any word I can think of right now. In the beginning I thought, okay, he is doing fine but as the movie progresses, he just eats them all... He has a long way to go, hope he chooses good stories....

I haven't watched the original KDrama so this is an honest review, not comparison. You can watch this if you are not much into thrillers because this doesn't offer thrill nor mystery, first season was still good but second is below average. The plot is just too weak, there are plenty of loopholes. They are looking for a serial killer and have no police force involved, there is no local police or no use of modern technology, whatever tech they have shown is just too old, they should have atleast shown it to be based in 90s to make it more relatable. Cinematography, background score are not upto the mark. Acting is just average. Those 2 stars are for Gulshan and Amit's acting. Drashti Dhami keeps on acting like she is in her old tv melodramas, she just doesn't get into the skin of character, her expressions, body language, overall acting just can not make you believe that she is a police officer. Her face is mostly expression less, even in some scenes which are supposed to be intense but thanks to her, they don't appear so. She has no expressions when the mystery around killer is finally over and killer is revealed. Or you may just skip it.

It is not a thriller, it's a beautiful tale of Revenge. People need to understand, not all psychological murder movies need to be thriller. It's a slow poison, kills you bit by bit. Story, plot, direction, cinematography, characters, music, use of lights and locations everything is on point. There is no mystery, viewers from the beginning understand who killer is and gradually understand why, the only mystery is the story behind. They haven't shown too much detailing about the murders like how he gets the victim to a particular location but details about whys are intricate. All actor's expressions, dialogue delivery are so good. Dulquer is way too good in his role. Shreya, Pooja do absolute justice to their characters, Shreya in one particular scene where she badly wants her boyfriend by her side is so very convincing. Just a few things to point out, camera angles for Sunny Deol's scenes are most of the time wrong, his face looks old and bad, camera angle during his walking scenes make him look stooped. Another thing about Sunny is, at some points you feel he is gonna come out as that typical Sunny Deol screaming loud but luckily he doesn't. One more thing, how can a man of the killer's stature lift someone and throw it right at the mark from such a great height and then Sunny Deol jumps to the same Mark? it was typical Bollywood . You can ignore these things though.. Movie is a must watch. We need more of such movies.. Kaagaz ke Phool in the background is just beautiful..

Kartik Aaryan has nailed it. He is surprisingly good, saves the ship from sinking.. Alaya does a good job, she is much better than her mother Pooja Bedi. A Not So Thrilling Thriller, same old plot of revenge wrapped nicely. Movie fails to give a single thrilling moment, it keeps going at a slow pace. Music is good, it reminded me of Andhadhun; songs have been placed at absolute right places... good use of light and locations. There are many loopholes which can help if they plan a sequel, a sequel can be much more interesting.

An Honest Review.. A Spy with no love for country, he does everything just as a job and not out of sense of duty or love towards his own country. There's a scene where Mujahidines are cursing India, the hero doesn't, expressions on his face aren't of anguish but of his own pain & regret. Series is slow but holds you through. All the actors do justice to their characters, loved Barakha Bisht, she looks and acts stunning; Harsh Chhaya with a big role does justice to it, Zain Durrani as main protagonist stumbles at acting in a few scenes and Prakash Raj showcases a man that he may not at all be in real life, a patriot. It could have been a bold tale of patriotism but puts our spies in a wrong light.

BORING, SLOW, WASTE OF RESOURCES yet a treat to eyes and ears. that's just how I'll some it up. Bad presentation of a really good story, it gets so confusing that at certain points I felt they should have made a series instead, believe me it would be hit if they make a series out of this same story. It feels as though director himself doesn't know what he wants to show to the audience. It is so slow that it gets boring, I started yawning and my movie partner actually fell asleep. They have a very good cast but director like Maniratnam himself has failed to make proper use of them. Best use of VFX till date in Indian cinema, it is an absolute treat to the eyes, I had only gone to watch the movie because I liked the VFX in trailer plus there's A R Rahman music, it's typical A R Rahman but then again you can't not like it, there are beautiful pieces of music they have used every now and then all through the movie. Cinematography, Art direction, costumes are just too good. these are the things which makes it a bit worthy watch. One more thing, Hindi dubbing is very poor, they have used so many Urdu words which were not known to Indians then, you got to use proper language when presenting a period movie. Movie does give a cliffhanger though which is a good thing and which will make you watch the next part. All in all, movie will give you a nice audio-visual experience but that's it, don't expect more.

A very weak plotline, that one star is for actors and because I wanted to write a review. Direction is also very poor and I don't understand why that cop has to ask Sams' ethnicity, what do you want to portray by showing that?? That was racist to be honest.

First thing first it was a TORTURE to ears, I mean why would you do that? My one star is only for smashing the patriarchy, if only they did it with a bit more maturity, well that's what was expected when they brought it up in the first place. And when you say modern what people look for is also modern presentation. Music and background score was way to loud, actors, well I am not sure whether to call them so. Cinematography is ok. All in all it wasn't asked, another Cinderella movie.

NO abusive language, nudity, unnecessary exploitation of Hindu religion and it's mythology, Asur sets an example amidst all the series which have every other dialogue being abusive and every alternate scene either showing too much violence or nudity. It makes a statement that you can make a must watch series without all those things.. Everything is goo, screenplay, direction, use of background music, voice and speech quality and ofcourse cast who have presented it so well. It makes you think, go deep and even question yourself as to how far will you go to save your loved ones and how a childs' psychology is shaped on basis of what he hears and is always being hammered up on, how his upbringing plays role in what he has now become an ASUR. A Good series.
