Sansa Mommy

I woke up at 3 AM today and thought of watching Netflix while making my morning cup of tea. I stumbled upon Guns and Gulab which released only today. I didn't see the trailer before this and had no idea about this series and thought "hey! What a cool name inspired by Guns and Roses". I was hooked on by the very first scene... and I didn't pause until the last scene of the last episode. It was refreshing, funny and just fantastic! I loved everyone's acting... especially Gulshan Devaiah as AatmaRam :D (what a mindblowing performance! ). The Telugu dialogues were a pleasant surprise! I have previously seen him with Sonakshi Sinha in another series where he played the role of a cop, and I liked him there as well... so initially I thought it was probably not good casting because I could only see him as a cop. By the end of first episode, he sold me on this. RajkumarRao was awesome as usual... he brings an authentic charm to this role, and you find yourself rooting for him. I was never a fan of Dilquer before watching this, but he effortlessly pulled off his role (to be fair, the script was perfect too!). Finally, Adarsh Gourav did full justice to his role as "Chottu/Jugnu". I have seen him in White Tiger before this, but his acting abilities and the nuances of the character were captured way better in this role. I wish the female leads made a lasting impression as well... but I don't believe the script was written to elevate their roles apart from the usual flowerpot roles which are interchangeable. The supporting cast was great as well... special mention to Jo for capturing the essence of a studious schoolgirl without it being cheesy or unreal. Raj and DK did awesome work with this just like they did with Family man and Farzi (they are both in my top favorites too!).
