Wow! When i first watched the movie from the 80s, i was freaked out, it was so horrifying and scary! And so, watching this show years later i was a little worried that it wouldn't be nearly as good. I was completely and utterly wrong, watching these made me feel just like i was when i watched the movie all those years ago. The episodes are haunting-some have that odd sense of humor that the "it grows on you" had while also being creepy and unsettling. Starting off with that very first episode. What better way to start off this show then with Tobin Bell-(The guy that played Jigsaw) as a detective in the midst of a thunder storm-and suddenly ...well, i don't want to spoil it. But the terror just builds and builds until that startling climax that just makes your heart race! The special effects and makeup are so fantastic and unsettling, it makes me want to rewatch this show-and that is something i rarely do.
