900ish chapters in I love this story. Sunless is a wonderful MC who genuinely asks intriguing questions about the world as hes learning more about the Nightmare Spell and going down the path of Ascendancy. Like, questions that I WOULD ASK if I fantasized about being in the story and wonder "oh I could ask Noctis or Obel this." Sunny does so well in THOROUGHLY exploring the nature of the world and guiltythree does so well to draw you in with his writing and plot twists. I'm not saying Shadow Slave is a masterpiece, but man it has kept me enthralled unlike any other piece of media I've read and has many quotes and messages that resonate deeply with me. My favorite quote so far in the story is: "What I am trying to say, Sunless, is that you don't need to belong somewhere, or to something. You just need to make something belong to you. That is how you can find home..."
