Army of the Dead could have been a better movie. There were a lot of parts where common sense was lacking and the only people who seemed to have possessed that common sense was the kill team; sure there was the clueless safe cracker, but what else could you expect from a sheltered life with no zombie experience. What ruined the experience of the movie for me was "the daughter". As soon as she was forcing herself into the team, I was dead certain that many of them would die due to her selfish attitude. Anyone who smiles while displaying leverage is full of pride in my opinion and we all knew she wasn't going to listen to her dad. When she sneaked away from the vault and went to find the lost people of course it threw the teams mindset off and they were not focused. She recklessly deserted the team in hopes that they would come after her, but of course it was all in vain because they all died because of her while she was the last one standing until the bite took the other guy from the blast zone. If anything, this movie is a perfect example of when a person puts their priorities above others and not accepting the truth that each person has a choice to make and every choice good or bad has a consequence. Those girls chose to leave the camp, presumably they knew the risks, and when they got captured it appeared that they didn't even try to escape. They just sat there and cowered in fear. When a situation becomes very real life or death, and you are still alive you do whatever it takes to escape. But I digress....ultimately that daughter "thought" she knew what she was doing, she didn't consider the team let alone her dad. All I know is that girl deserves a good kick to the jaw and let them broken bones be a reminder of her failures, sure her dad is gone but she needs a little prick here and there to remind her what not to be. IF someone were to do that to my face in front of my team, i shoot the side of there arm and then put that hot barrel up on that sweet cheek to let them know I will hold no empty threat if I suspect jeopardy comes. If I see someone being stupid during an apocalypse on my team, bang bang. I gave them the rules, the warnings, and the consequences from the start. We ALL know not to be stupid during a crisis because panic makes you into a coward. That security guard would have been the perfect opportunity to get his daughter out of there. Knock her out and tie her up, pay that security guard to drive her away from las vegas as far as possible so the time it would take to get back would be too late for her. Say, "Sweetie I'm sorry I have to do this..." Clock her out with love, and deliver her to a safe place; also deck the security guard to let him know what happens if he takes advantage. Then let the kill team roll out and do it's job with less worry, they will search the area if they can and if there's enough time then the people. Yes people come first, but the movie has them going for the money and HIGHLY LIKELY that if you are lost in a world of zombies you are presumed dead.
