2023 mw3 review.
(campaign)
Played the first "warzone mission" and quit the campaign. it felt forced and recycled, and painfully boring. I don't play warzone. I think the only reason Warzone is even popular is due to the fact it's free. Battle Royals are not what arcade shooters are looking for, which COD has always been funded by. Running up to a glowing box and it shitting out a gun is both stupid and boring. Force my load out and let me figure out the mission.
(multiplayer)
This is where my heart broke. As a fan of the original MW2 from 09 I was excited to see some of the old maps come back, I wanted to see some of the best maps come back to COD in all of it's glory. The issue that I have is they have almost made the maps unrecognizable in many ways, Adding doors, closing off shortcuts on some maps, and not fixing known camping zones. Being able to use weapons from MW2 makes the multiplayer boring and doesn't bring excitement in learning new guns with new attachments, it just seems like an extension of MW2 and not a stand-alone game. Yes there are MW3 guns, but they are massively outweighed by the volume of MW2 guns.
Long story short, I played a few rounds of the game, and asked for a refund. If this game was a $30 DLC I wouldn't have been as upset and more than likely would continue to play, but the nostalgia, and limited changes aren't worth the price tag.
JUST REMASTER 2009 MW2, BRING BACK EVERYTHING EXACTLY AS IT WAS AND I'LL GIVE YOU MY MONEY BACK
