Phenomenal work of animation BUT NOT A FAMILY FILM! Young viewers may find certain scenes quite disturbing, for example quite early in the film a topless Josephine Baker twirls her breasts for an audience who subsequently attacks her, picking the bananas from her skirt and chasing her off the stage… just one example. It really is such a unique, creative story so impeccably illustrated, but just not a family film. It was recommended to me for my middle school French classroom of all things… I don’t think the BOE would approve haha
