The biblical story is very powerful and does get through even though the presentation itself was often a distraction - heavy side-plots, low budget, slow pace, and the casting ethnicity inconsistencies. Believers who know the story will be able to keep up through the hurried start of telling the story of the Moriah journey. Those unfamiliar with the story will need to follow up after the movie to get a clearer grasp of the significance and context of the event. While Abraham's flash backs were meant to fill in the gaps, I believe a more direct approach such as a prologue would have been better and would have allowed the story to move along at a better pace. Overall, I am thankful I had an option to see a movie that tells the story of God's redemptive grace. See the movie in support of the message and in hopes of more movies like it being available to audiences.
