The existentialistic narrative of the Matrix series only works when you have the visual eye candy to back it up. What could have been a muscle flex in cinematography and visual effects as previous Matrix films did for the film industry will not be found in this film. Decent at moments, but nothing ground breaking. It's almost as if the film was sabotaged in the editing room were test CGI shots and mediocre takes from the cast make it into the final cut. Good performances by the cast over shadowed by a poor edit and delivery at key moments in the film. It lost the grittiness the last films presented. Like a Disney rendition; Mary Poppins level wire effects with Trinity and Neo near the end of the film performing a real life stunt which is cool if you think about it, but losing out on using cutting edge CGI techniques to completely fool the eye as previous films tried to do solidified why these elements are more important to the franchise because it ultimately overshadows any good acting or a decent story line as Resurrections has. Perhaps a Director's Cut would reinvigorate the film and my opinion about Resurrections.
