This book is abhorrent, repulsive, offensive, and extremely distasteful. It is worded so that if you criticize the book, you are considered “racist”. Yet when you read the book, there is racism against whites. Early on in the book, the author states that racial discrimination is not inherently racist. “If discrimination is creating equity, then it is anti racist”. Yes that is an actual quote from the book. The author also states that there is racial inequity between whites and blacks, in that more whites are wealthier. So essentially, racial discrimination against whites is antiracist. And this is just the tip of the iceberg. There are so many one sided, incomplete, disgusting arguments made in this book that had me physically shocked. I’m not even a Republican. In fact, I’m a registered Democrat. Yet this book has such a left-wing bias, it is unreadable. This book was a required summer read for the college I will be attending in the fall. “How to be an Antiracist” is, ironically, one of the most racist pieces of media I have seen in my entire life. Do not read this book unless you are doing so for shock value alone. There are no good lessons to be learned here. If you want to be an anti racist, learn from Martin Luther King Jr., not the buffoon who wrote this steaming pile of garbage.
