Tessa Thompson in Hedda is acting like someone’s grading her from the ceiling while she auditions for a role she already got. every line feels overrehearsed, overpolished, and painfully self aware like she’s demonstrating technique instead of living the character. you can literally see the effort, not the emotion. it's theatre kid energy trapped in a close up camera, dramatic poses, heavy breathing, and zero natural flow. beautiful production, but her performance has the authenticity of a gym bro flexing in the mirror when nobody asked. no grit, no soul, just a whole lot of ‘watch me act.’ entertaining, but not for the reasons they intended.
