So let's get rid of what's on your the reader's mind, you're prob wondering is "4 stars not a bit much for this game?" the quick answer is no. I played CyberPunk 2077 in Q2 of 2021 and sure I did encounter a few glitches, only two I could consider game-breaking and they were; getting stuck halfway in the ground while riding my Arch (motorbike) and another while riding my scorpion (also a motorbike) being stuck in a T-pose during a side mission which got me killed. Now, this should explain the 4 stars, I'm docking 1 star because CD Project Red should never have given in to impatient fans and releasing the game early, A move that has hurt them and their brand greatly and I'm sure they've learned their lessons.
Cyberpunk is a FANTASTIC experience story-wise and can be topped by very few games out there at the moment of writing this short review, the game mechanics are few but due to a very expansive skill tree these mechanics can be used in multiple ways by the player, you will never take advantage of half the skill tree and different possible playstyles in one playthrough.
The characters in the game tend to be fairly shallow, and fairly 2D, except Johnny Silverhand of course but that's due to your progress through the story. Let's talk quickly about the massive elephant in the room without getting into spoilers, Your player the "main protagonist" V, after the first act of the game, V seems to take a back seat for the rest of the game, which was very strange to me, many times throughout the game I wondered whose story this was. Think of it as playing The Witcher 3 but suddenly the entire story is focused on Yenefer wile Geralt is trotting at yens heels.
Visually the game is stunning, the world is very detailed and dense. I enjoyed what I can only describe as the "explosion of colours" at my eye holes. The sound design was fairly standard, nothing special stood out about it even in certain scenes of the game where it really should have.
Cyberpunk 2077 was truly an experience, they told a unique story you simply cannot find in many video games, a story you experience via an expansive skill tree system, after a bit of polishing that has been done the game is in a much more playable and stable state and ready for your PC's and consoles (not last-gen consoles though).
