I wasn’t a big fan of the Wonka lead Tim Chalamet. He has shown up in so many movies in the last few years I felt that he was overrated. I went for the spectacle, the, “popcorn movie” thrill, but I have to admit I was Impressed! Not only is he a credible actor, but a triple threat as he sang and danced beautifully as well. As he was surrounded by a capable and charming cast I have to say Wonka was a throughly engaging and entertaining ride.

The action was predictable. Honestly he must have killed over 200 men without breaking a sweat. He was hit by cars , thrown off a balcony, pushed down 6 flights of stairs, etc., and like a Timex watch or the Terminator he just kept on ticking! It was pretty predictable After awhile. I will say, though that the cinematography was visually stunning! Scene after scene was steeped in color and vibrancy. The locations were incredible and most of the time I was focused on the background. A dumb, beautifully crafted movie.

I very original and creative show. Well worth seeing. I stumbled on it while looking for something to watch. It’s too silly at times, but the “cuteness” factor makes up for it. Two thumbs up!
