Really fun game! While I do deeply wish that more than 3 choices carried over, more than 2 companions could travel with you at a time, & the romances had more scenes / depth, I still really enjoyed the game.
Any fan who’s been playing since Dragon Age Origins and has read all the books & other tie in media like I have will enjoy the fact that we finally get answers on theories we’ve had for years. If you properly explore the crossroads especially, the lore drops are incredible.
The environments are amazing and I’m so happy we’re finally seeing places we’ve all been begging to see for years. Treviso and the necropolis are my personal favorites. I do wish we could see a bit more of Nevarra but this is way better than the Val Royeaux in DAI which was the size of a shoebox.
I will say that I felt both Tevinter and the Antivan Crows were a little… nicer than previous games have established but I’m willing to overlook that.
The combat was surprisingly fun. I still personally prefer DAO but it was a lot more fun than DAII or DAI’s combat. Exploring was also more fun than DAI from me and the environments easier to navigate.
I miss the epic romances from past games though, especially DAII & DAI. I loved all the companions in DAVG but I feel like more depth was given to the companion x companion romances than the companion x Rook romances. Especially when it comes to Lucanis.
But every game ever made has good points and bad. There’s no perfect game and I still deeply enjoyed this one and plan on replaying many times. I’ll probably even write fanfic for it, the same as I always have.
