One of the few shows I tell people they SHOULD ABSOLUTELY WATCH!!!! Like a heady, visually stunning, heartfelt, super well-acted and bat***t crazy mixture of (if I had to compare it to some other things, cause it's so incredibly unique) the weirdest and most esoteric parts of Gene Wolfe, Octavia Butler, Mamoru Oshii, and David Lindsay. Season 2 is definitely more of a bridging season unlike the very complex introduction of the first season, but the structure of the show indicated that it was to be getting much more narratively complex again, especially since unlike Lost or Fringe, all of the bizarre, obsessively fascinating mysteries laid out here were very clearly pre-planned, with numerous details and clues going right back to the beginning teasing their existence (and even some details that tease thing that have yet to happen but can be deduced from the evidence given and how it is presented in conjunction with other hunts that turned out to be true). The being said, there are still unresolved character arcs that end on high cliffhangers and some questions that can't be answered from what is given in all the clues, which along with the pre-planned story not being a predictable or easy one to replicate makes it SO SO SAD that it was cancelled solely due to the dumb-ass merger of Warner-Discovery despite being in the top 1% of all shows across all networks (even beyond Warner and Discovery). Up there in my books with The OA and The Future is Wild as one of the very few shows where continuing them would be actually justifiable!!!! Like even if it can't be done as live-action anymore there should at least be an animated continuation or graphic novel to tie thing up!!! #RenewRaisedbyWolves
