I'll give 3 stars for the film RETRO. Firstly, cinematography stands very high. High stands of visuals, especially the transition from the normal land to island had done extremely well. Congratulations to cinematographer. Secondly, congratulations to the director Karthick Subbaraj. His treatment to this film was fantastic. I loved the way characters portrayed and story moved in this film.
Thirdly, supporting actors especially Jayaram has done a phenomenal job and Joju George also has done his job very well. I extend my credit to all the actors in this film. I can't even say that this character is not necessary in the film. Everyone has their own screen space. Fourtly, Pooja Hedge has done a mesmerizing character. I haven't seen her like this. She beautifully portrayed the character to the audience.
Finally, our beloved Surya. No words to describe his acting. This film adds new layer to Surya. He showed literally all the expressions. I loved watching him on the screen.
Story:
An orphanage boy joins the group. The group leader raises him as his son. Due to his relationship with his girlfriend, he decided to leave the work. The story starts in this way. But it goes beyond in a way we wouldn't have imagined.
Pit falls:
I felt slight lag in the second half due to dragging screenplay. After story goes to another level we would have gotten an idea what is going to happen which made us bored.
Conclusion:
New dimension of Surya we can witness here. Sure worth to watch. Go and watch it in theatres. Elevation in climax scene suited very well. The movie with a meaningful screenplay, excellent story and a fruitful message.
Thank you
