I was 11 when this movie was released, and I remember perceiving it as a deep and heartfelt comedy. Nearly 20 years later, the only way to describe it is: aged like milk. The entire film is an onslaught of unfunny misogynistic and racist boomer humor. I was so furious that I had to watch an hour-long takedown on Youtube afterwards to validate my anger. Adam Sandler’s character is unlikeable in every sense of the word, even when the film attempts (but fails) in rectifying his poor behavior by the end. If you want to preserve your positive childhood memories of this film, then avoid watching it again.
