I read all the original series of books, really original, as I read them in the 1960's. I understand the show's need to be more hip and edgy. This is targeted at today's teens. I looked past the sex as it is the CW; and was able to watch the first seven episodes in a binge. I liked the characters, the many homages paid to the titles of the books, the growing supernatural feeling. This is not the Nancy I grew up with; but then I knew she couldn't be. This Nancy is for this era; my Nancy wouldn't do so well here and now. So I can accept this new Nancy and appreciate what they borrowed from the old; the names, some of the situations, Pamela Sue Martin as a guest star; another homage to a long past series. I am intrigued by the double mysteries they are devising, and the suspense they are gradually building. I eagerly await the next show. This is aimed at teens, and I am 66, but I can appreciate the acting, the welcome visit by other guests in the CW stable and , especially, engaging writing.
