Vera is the best series of this type - After more than 40 years of watching those type of series - I love Jeremy Brett in Sherlock homes and David Suchet in Poirot great actor that really capture the essence of the book and character but Brenda Blethyn surpass for me all of them. The scenario is very well written. No other actrice could have replace her in this role she became the icon of Vera. And it is with great sadness that I wacth this character disappear in season 14 episode 2 - the final curtain.The ending was perfect . Bravo and Bravo to the cast and specially her. A great actrice that I discover in Vera.

I like most of the charaters except him and the plot are not very interesting and the last episode of the first season WOW terrible made for 4 years old or compete with the worst series of americain series

I wacth most all of the detective series and this one is one I enjoy the most among my favorites: Sherlock Homes with Jeremy Brett, Proferssor T from Belgium the other not so good (english one). I like when the charaters are interesting and well play ; Vera is among them, Hercule Poirot not so much for the plot but for the performance of David Suchet but Astrid has the ability to leave you in a good spirit and the casting and acting is excellent and the plot are interesting, I am very happy that the season is coming back hope they keep the same magic among the characters..
