The title should have been The Broadway Movie of the Color Purple. I use to watch this movie daily as a little girl and still to this day as an adult. Some movies should never be remaked and this was one of them. Taraji is such a great actress but the role of Shug did not maximize or highlight her talents. Fantasia was okay but Celie was not a Singer. Sofia role took over the movie in the new version. I feel like Sofia's role was highlited more as taking a stance against domestic violence today. The new version took away from the growth and development of Celie's Character.

I've watched all 12 episodes countless times. This was a mastermind piece. Great job...
