After seeing all the reviews on this book, I thought something was wrong with me for not liking it. However, I talked to half a dozen people in my book club who read it and they all shared a similar perspective: this is not a good book. It rambles, has no real focus, a zillion characters that don’t actually matter, and is extremely difficult to get into. There seems to be a real disconnect between the online “Five Star Reviews” and the people in real life who have actually read it.
I’m truly shocked this book has won so many awards.
