I was really disappointed, it was clearly written by a feminist. I’ve never written a review for a movie or a bad one at that- But felt really insulted by it. I agree that women should feel powerful, be diverse and equal, that’s what Barbie is about. But to say to women that you don’t need a man- is insulting to men. And it made me feel really bad for Ken, as he loved her and Barbie completely dismissed him. Yes I agree that Ken should be individual, but the whole point of Barbie is that Barbie and Ken are an item. I also feel like nowadays that kids programmes are remade with subliminal messages that I think are inappropriate to children. Even though I’m a supporter of everyone being who they are. I think towards children, it does more harm than good. I think children/people should decide who they are as they are growing up. It’s inappropriate because they are vulnerable. Margot and Ryan were absolutely fantastic, but shame the movie didn’t match it.
