Came in with no expectations, just wanting a decent movie to watch and it fulfilled that. Action, comedy and character development. Check, check, check! The storyline was not perfect or anything, but its a Disney movie. Their audience are children, not 45 year old adults picking apart the movie and complaining becuase "Buzz was voiced by the wrong actor" or "two women kissed and my little pea brain can't comprehend that." I was definitely not thrilled that Zurg was Buzz as I feel like that's out of character for his usual Hell bent on galactic conquest trope. HOWEVER, there is a set up for a sequel and if his fight with new Buzz turns him into that true archnemesis, then I digress. Saw a lot of complaints that Buzz wasn't who he was in the Toy Story movies, but I feel like that's what we call.... character development. Old Buzz (Zurg) was a closer representation to that, but new Buzz received new information and was able to grow because of that. So although I agree, I didn't mind the difference. Also, something I was super impressed with was the lack of loose ends for little things. I caught myself questioning why something was happening and then the movie answered it within 3 minutes. I grew up during the Toy Story Era and this movie took me back to my childhood for a little bit. Him ejecting and his wings shooting out gave me the chills. Sox was the perfect comedic relief. Love any film With Taika Waititi is apart of. If you go into this movie with your own plot line in your head, there's going to be room for disappointed (as most things go in life when you have you're own premeditated expectations), but if you go into it just wanting a good movie, it achieves that. I throughly enjoyed the movie, and would reccomend to anyone. Animation was also great. Food for thought: If this is the movie Andy watched, does this make Lightyear a live action movie within the Toy Story universe?
