I almost didn't see this movie because of all the negative reviews. But then I ended up missing my showtime and just picked Barbie so I would have something to watch. 99% of the reason people are angry over this movie is because it is a movie for girls! Barbie is mostly a girls' toy, so of course it is focused on a more female perspective of society and life in general! If this had been the GI Joe movie, all the men would have loved it. I didn't find it to be "woke" at all lol. This movie had more progressive principles, like a diverse cast and showing women as doctors, lawyers, etc. But the men are not put down or portrayed as bad FOR BEING MEN. They are portrayed as bad because some of the guys in this movie are just really awful people. And in the end the Barbies decide to share power over Barbie land with the Kens since the Kens have learned their lesson.
