Copy paste of the original, plot jumps to scene after scene without character development or explanations as to why things are happening. Spoiler alert - Lucius doesn’t care about Rome and wants to see it burn as he views it a plague, but miraculously half way through changes his stance, this happens again and again as his distain for his mother is quickly forgotten too, much like his wife who he forgets even existed half way through, what are his motivations ?? He’s been told that he is the son of Maximus, whom he hardly knew. The Romans would’ve never let a slave trader and former slave rise to such power, nor would they have believed that Lucius was ALL OF A SUDDEN back alive after having been gone for 16 years. We sat there wanting to like it, but ultimately just felt bored.
