It is a feast to watch these documentaries in colour, this gives a more natural feel, and brings us closer to that time. But unfortunately the maps shown in the series are simply terrible. The person or even worse the team who released without checks and peer-reviewing such mistakes should walk somewhere far barefoot. The WW1 losses of Germany for no particular reason (episode 1) are highlighted till Oder river (which was ceded to Poland after 45 not 1918, Poland fought for Poznan and Wielkopolska (successfully) with a weakened German Army. The eastern border of Poland is shown as it is today and not how it was in 1939 until the Soviets invaded from the East -and it is mentioned in that episode right after this odd map ( a hybrid of times) is shown to the public. I do get that it is a success for some people to not mistake Austria for Australia anymore, but it is not good enough for such program. These severe mistakes of wrong representation of borders could have been easily avoided for such grand production. I would feel equally upset if someone showed 1800s map of the US using today's borders including Texas. Maps should capture the change.and represent their times.
