This show is insane and not in a good way. I can't believe how impossibly wrong they got this, Nemo's character, everything. It's like the writers saw any good idea from the original novel and intentionally made the opposite choice. They split Nemo into three characters: a scientist who built the Nautilus, an impossibly annoying woman who magically solves all problems and knows everything, and the vengeful captain actually bearing his name. They gave everything redeemable about Captain Nemo to other characters and completely neutered him, and the Nautilus. The super secret, super weapon submarine is constantly breaking or running away from a much larger, more terrifying ship which makes one wonder why in the world the Nautilus was so feared in the novel... or why it was even built in the first place. The show is a tonal mess -the I'm on episode 8 and the episode before this one has the crew of the Nautilus playing cricket with the enemy who just killed members of their crew... and now they're mutining against Nemo... it's hard to really put into words how terrible this show is, which is such a shame because I love the idea and setting, and was very excited when I found out about it. They literally "put a chick in it" and made it lame... the only redeeming quality of this show is that it's underwater sometimes.
