Just watched this on Netflix and I have to say that The Father is the most powerful film I have seen in a long time, with outstanding performances from Anthony Hopkins and Julia Colman.
You can almost see into Anthony's demented mind and the film gives insight into the tragedy of dementia for the sufferer and their family.
It is a realistic portrayal of the families grief but if you are looking for a film that leaves you with a warm, happy feeling, The Father is not for you.
