My wife and I are well-acquainted with the Book of Genesis and were wonderfully surprised and moved by "His Only Son." The pace of the movie allowed the viewer to feel the building of Abraham's emotions on the journey to obeying God and "sacrificing" Isaac. The actors who portrayed Abraham and Sarah were truly outstanding. There was great nuance in the way the film displayed Sarah's faith and inner strength as well as her long-suffering during her years of following Abraham and enduring infertility. The side plot concerning the rebellious slave was a bit distracting, but all else was wonderful. Highly recommend this movie during this Easter Season. Loved the way the film tied the Old Testament Covenant with the New Covenant in Christ.
