Warning: Spoilers in this review for season 11 & 12
Used to give it a 5 star but Chiball era has been shoving political messages down our throats, ones which I agree with but having a moral told to us at the end of every story gets really tiresome and like we're being talked down to. Infact, everything is explained, the dialogue of the characters is explaining things to the audience which is just plain strange. We're not dumb as viewers, I'd much rather see developed characters. None of the companions use any of their preset skills like Yaz being a policewoman and it just gets ridiculous. The Timeless Child ruined the series for good, I can't watch it after that, it just changes everything in Doctor Who and makes all The Doctor's sacrifices and others sacrifices for him/her useless. BBC seemed to do a copy and paste job with people of colour, and different gendered doctors into the past instead of making developed deep characters of colour in the future, which by the way they have done in the past anyway, like with Martha Jones, Bill and Micky. Heck even Ricky had more development that all the people of colour combined in series 11 and 12. You can't change the past BBC, you can only show how you've developed, grown and changed over the years, the same as with the world. William Hartnell will always be my first Doctor. The 13th Doctor literally killed a Tardis which is a sentient being and had no remorse... The Doctor changes every carnation but I didn't know she'd become a murderer. There were no deep, sad, remorseful moments in the show, no reflection of The Doctor, no explanation to why she changed. The Doctor failed to console Graham about his Cancer and just stated she's too socially awkward to say anything? Graham says Yaz is the best out of nowhere and then she says nothing back. We get told what happens, not shown. No emotional or hard decisions. The Doctor left a man to DIE in her stead. That's not the Doctor we know. I miss what Doctor Who was, I learnt so much from it, it was so complex and fun and inspiring. It was a show I thought I'd watch forever. Used to be one of the best shows if not the best out there.
