The Bengal Files is the latest entry in Vivek Agnihotri’s trilogy of politically charged films, and like its predecessors (The Tashkent Files, The Kashmir Files), it seeks to dramatize overlooked or deliberately ignored historical traumas. This time, the lens is focused on the political violence, massacres, and ideological extremism that plagued Bengal during and after Partition, as well as in more recent decades. On paper, this is fertile ground for serious historical cinema. But in execution, the film walks a tightrope — one it doesn’t always balance well. As a film, The Bengal Files is not without merit — but it is also not beyond criticism. It chooses to speak in absolutes, when history is rarely so clear-cut.

"Manjummel Boys" is an absolute gem that captured my heart from the very beginning. This Malayalam film beautifully encapsulates the essence of friendship and the warmth of small-town life in Kerala. Watching it felt like being transported back to my own childhood days, filled with laughter, mischief, and unbreakable bonds. The characters are wonderfully written and portrayed with such authenticity that you can't help but see reflections of your own friends in them. Each actor brings their role to life with charm and sincerity, making you genuinely care about their journeys. The camaraderie and banter among the friends are so relatable and heartwarming that it almost feels like you're part of their circle. The cinematography is another highlight, capturing the serene beauty of Kerala's landscapes, which adds a magical touch to the storytelling. The village, with its lush greenery and tranquil backwaters, feels like a character in itself, enhancing the film's nostalgic vibe. What I loved most about "Manjummel Boys" is its ability to balance humor and emotion. There are scenes that will make you laugh out loud and others that will tug at your heartstrings. The movie doesn't shy away from addressing deeper themes, but it does so with a lightness that never feels heavy-handed. Yes, there are moments where the pacing could be tighter, but these minor flaws are easily overlooked because of the film's overall charm and heart. "Manjummel Boys" is more than just a movie; it's a joyful celebration of friendship, love, and the simple pleasures of life. It's a film that leaves you with a smile on your face and warmth in your heart, making it a must-watch for anyone who cherishes stories about real human connections.
