Moana 2 is definetely a Disney movie. A light hearted film filled with quirky jokes, and oftentimes that took away from the overall movie. Moments that could have had bigger emotional impacts were ruined by jokes and "haha" moments. They tried to leverage emotions with Moanas bond with her younger sister, but in the end it feels like an empty bond that is not very compeling to the audience. It also has major plot holes with the first movie. Large events that Maui should have known about in the first film but did not share. It could almost be its own stand alone movie. Ultimately, it wasn't a bad watch, but me and my wife got quickly bored.
