I wish Colbert would check out the NBC series aired in the mid 90's entitled "Ancient Prophecies" narrated by David McCallum. It aired over several nights and explored various "prophets" predictions that centuries later had come to be true. Nostrodamus was one of those prophets and in the final episode, it spoke of a prediction made by Nostrodamus that would occur around the turn of the current century. What I especially remember about that prediction is that it spoke about a "charismatic" leader coming into power of a major nation. He was quite popular with hordes of followers, but in the end that leader proved to be evil and led the country to its doom. Might be worth checking this series out
