One of my 2 favorite books of all time. It was a paperback on my mother’s book shelf in the 1960’s. It was written in the 40’s I think (?) so it’s not sophisticated, but I learned so much about Poland and the Polish heart and the political world dynamics in 1939. It chronicles, simply, the Polish underground and anti-insurgency as Poland resists the Nazis. And such a sweet love story. Enjoy.
