Spoilers!! Honestly disappointed with how bad this book was. It was very hyped all over social media so I thought - why not? The pacing is awful, the plot barely makes sense, the resolution is completely irrational?? She dies and then comes back 2 pages later?? I also disliked the world building and how little sense it made, it is as if the author assumes that you know what she is thinking, when in reality it is just confusing and very obviously rushed. I did not understand how the Faeries looked at all, and all I could imagine was Wolverine when I thought of Talmin and Mad-Eye Moody when I thought of Lucien. 🤦‍♀️ Not to mention the actual relationships between the characters, like what ??? Lucien and Feyre had more chemistry then her and Tamlin ever did, mainly because her and Tamlin have a few weird scenes and then are obsessed and in love?! Like hello?! It seems the turning point in their relationship is the painting stuff, which makes no sense. And I get that the author is trying to establish that Feyre is desperate right from the beginning, but it is still weird. Also she's nineteen, and he's like a thousand years old. Yet she seems to act more mature than he does. Also how unrealistic it is for her, a human, to defeat Amarantha and outsmart her so easily, when she was able to trick all of the High Fae Lords?? Talk about an overpowered main character... Additionally, if I got a pound everytime the author mentioned something being ripped/shredded into "ribbons", I would be rich. I'm only giving this 2 stars because I liked the curse concept and I wish it was actually written well because it is a decent plot idea.
