"Bad Monkey" is deeply disappointing. The show used real primates, a choice that is both outdated and unethical. Most primates used in film are taken away from their mothers prematurely, depriving them of the crucial maternal care they need for normal development. This practice leads to severe distress and often results in lifelong psychological issues, such as pacing, rocking, and even self-harm. These animals endure intense loneliness and depression as their complex needs cannot be met in training facilities or on movie sets. In an age where CGI can easily replace the use of real animals, there is no excuse for perpetuating such cruelty.
