John Moulds

This film is an absolutely fantastic piece of art.It is not for the fainthearted however and I would think most people would find it a difficult watch . It therefore will most likely not find a mass audience.I feel it should. Talk of inclusivety in the Oscar nominations is an ongoing topic and for me Greta Gerwig's Little Women ,whilst engaging and enjoyable, was not a patch on the 1949 June Alysson version .Nevertheless quite rightly ,in my opinion, it has been flagged up for Oscar consideration. This film ,The Nightingale, should be right up there as one of the best films of the year.When we consider that not only was this film directed by Jennifer Kent but also written by her it is a stunning achievement. I cannot speak too highly of this film and its creator Jennifer Kent. JM
