The flashbacks were unnecessary and confusing. If someone were watching the movie and did not already know the story they would be completely lost. Also, Jos hair was a huge distraction. It wasn’t messy Malibu. It was messy mentally ill and homeless. In fact the whole family’s hair was out of step with the times. Except for Aunt March. You knew Meryl was going to get it right. I appreciate that Greta wanted to do a different remake but she went overboard.
