I watched this show when it first aired in the U.S and, in my recollection, it affected me as a young married person. Helen Shaver was a stand out. I'm surprised to see it discussed in the context of sitcoms, as that's not how I remember it. Excellent program and ahead of it's time. I'd be interested in seeing how it might stand up 40 years later.
