Bee Bee

I went expecting a lot from this film and came away really disappointed. The first hour of the film was I guess trying to explain to people who had and watch the first one what was going on. It was sad to see that there was no female leads, just one fighter pilot and another that didn’t get any air time. it’s 2022 - are there no female naval commanders in the US Navy? And there was romantic trope of a woman coming back into his life (who bought a pub & has a daughter that may or may not be his). Had no idea who she was and there was no mention of his old girlfriend from the previous movie - whatever happened to her? And then the trope of Goose’s son and everything that comes with that, and then Goose’s son saving him at the end. And it was also sad they didn’t fleshout the Iceman‘s character - just had him as a feeble, sick man who dies in the end. They should’ve made him the commander it would’ve been so much better than Jon Hamm. The fighting scenes at the end were really exciting, but it doesn’t make up for a pretty boring, full of cliches and old movie tropes, predictable movie.
