This one was a looooooooooong and disappointing watch. Disjointed script, disconnected characters, haphazard accents and a meandering, messy maze of a timeline. Also, in reality Josephine was SIX years older than Napoleon. Actors in this take?! Phoenix is fifteen years older than his leading lady. Oh, and the battle scenes- which are WAY too indulgent and convoluted- are also highly inaccurate. In summary, this movie is just a head scratcher in terms of purpose. Gory, revisionist love story?! I’m still not sure.
