I bought tickets for Oppenheimer and unfortunately a little bit into the movie, our entire movie theater got evacuated due to fireworks being set off by stupid people inside the lobby of the theater, but for safety the police and fire department were called over and everyone had to leave and I could not complete the movie. I requested to get my money back as it is not in my control that we got evacuated. I was told by Fandango that the refund can not be made after the movie show time, even though I have photographic proof that we were evacuated and I could not finish the movie. Since then I have been trying to cancel my fandango account and each time I call, i keep getting advised that it was escalated to corporate or management to close out my account and that there is a high volume, but has taken over a week and still nothing. I only got my money back because I went through PayPal to get a voucher for the same amount back instead of filing a claim since all I wanted was my money back for something not in my control. I didn’t ask to be compensated besides that, so thank you PayPal. I am NEVER using fandango and going to buy my tickets directly with the theaters going forward. The $5 reward at fandango isn’t even worth it since it expires instead of racking up points with Regal at least. Terrible company that doesn’t even deserve a 1 star.
