Basically the writing is a list. A list of drugs she'll take; a list of bodega items she'll buy; a list of stuff she's getting rid of etc. Why she needs to sleep and I can only guess. Was because her parents died which left her with money to not work & be gluttonous in her sleep? Orthe awful ex? I don't know I'm guessing. In general she's a very unpleasant person. In fact, if she has a name and it was ever mentioned in the book I don't remember it. And I don't care enough to go find out after the fact.
When they mention that Reva worked for Marsh McLennan and was headed to the World Trade Center I knew she was a goner. Thinking from that point on that might be point to be discussed. Nope. After the list upon list upon lists it just ends. It was like the editor said get this thing wrapped up. Another book I would have not read except for book club.
I did not care for it; I would not recommend it; I got nothing out of it. That's my list.
