I think this album is great. It has fantastic high points like "Hawkmoon 269" and "Desire", along with some of their most political stuff since "War" with songs like "Bullet the blue sky" and "Silver and Gold" but really it's the more reflective emotional songs that are what make this album great. "Van Diemen's land", "I still haven't found what I'm looking for" and "All I want is you" are all standouts in my opinion. The album does feel a bit disjointed and I would have reordered and cut a few songs like "Helter skelter" and "Heartland" to make the album feel less stuffed which I think is why this album more than most draws flak. Overall it's a good powerful album that has typical strong emotion to it like U2's best works
