l normally don't have interest watching hindi films in big screen,my concept;"its waste of time and money".but Hollywood,my 1st priority in multiplex...when my bro.and sis.asked my company for Secret Superstar,my reaction was a BIG NO,but as requested for their sake l just said O.K.,l did warned them "l may step out in middle of watching".
OMG the miracle do happens, I find it so amazing that even after knowing that the film is ended but still could not get up from chair,so excited that could not convince self that the movie has come to an end!!!. I personally enjoyed this film immensly, and it certainly did touch the hearts of many.
As for those that think that this film is "as usual" or "normal script"...well, we only have the movie-going public to thank for that! lol* You see, it's not CRITICS/article writers that make a film "HUGE" or a "HIT" with the general movie-going public. PEOPLE make the film a huge success. With Secret Superstar, a film like this had never been made before. At least not with the type of theme needed to really capture the essence of mothr-daughter relationship, sacrifices, compromises etc. This film is so accurate that even the Director timed the actual typical middle-class muslim family in the film with the REAL orthodox, typical muslim husband. Even the location, costumes for goodness sakes matched!
Give this movie a break you guys! this film is a good/decent/movie worth seeing, everyone started wiping their eyes inside theater. So, I really wouldn't say that this movie was "overhyped"...at least not like the buildup for the BIG budget film being "overhyped". ha!
Personally, I LOVE this film. The story was sweet.I think all of the actors including the kiddo, grandMa did a fine job.
