Dumb & overly long with implausible plot twists.Hokey dokey subplot of a jailbird older brother that Tom Cruise left off his job resume ,who I guess can never get a break & get paroled ,As Cruise plays the young hot shot Harvard graduate lawyer looking for his first decent job with a big Tennessee law firm headed by Hal Holbrook .Gene Hackman is wasted as a erectile dysfunctionate Associate Partner who seems more befuddled than beguiling in his role. The music was also overly loud & distracting...why this movie scores a 64% & 76% on Rotten Tomatoes reviews I'll never know.I gave it 2 stars because at least the movie was in focus & the soundtrack was certainly audible.
