Don't feed into the negativity surrounding this game... It is very comparable to a RTS with Naval Combat. If you enjoy building a class specific role in a party to take on bosses in PvE or becoming the most fearsome captain on the seas against other captains in PvP this game may be for you! While you can't currently engage in on-foot combat there is definitely room for Ubisoft to add more to the map as well as the mechanics. Keep in mind that is a live service title, the amount of customization is absurd except the character creation. Smuggling operations playing similarly to the GTA Online smuggling, high risk/high reward. Each ship has base stats and utility in which you should build around to become a higher class ship. Many have cited the "boring" gathering mini-game, you can disable it in the settings. However, when doing this it stops the ability to get more resources depending on the rank of tool used and how well you play the mini-game. While I very much enjoy this title, I'm a very methodical gamer. Survival, RTS, and RPG games are my favorite genres which Ubisoft has taken a bit from each of these to make Skull and Bones.
