I like junji ito, but this just makes me wish I were reading his work instead. They really sanitized the detail that makes his work so visceral. The timing of the scares is also so bad. The intro alone bumps it up from two star to three though. I think it's a good way to induct new fans who may not be into reading manga, since once they check out the source material they'll realize how much better it is.
