It lacks the nobility that Gene’s stories and characters always had and strove for. Now it’s pessimistic with rude characters that are broken and just out for themselves in a Federation that is corrupt and self serving. It’s more about damaged characters than achieving a common goal or mission. I feel like I’m watching Big Brother or Survivor in space rather than Star Trek. Shame on the new writers and creators for turning a show about a noble vision of our future into a a snarky, sad expose’ of damaged characters. Sci-fi is to be an escape not more reality TV in space. We have too much of that already.
